Double din into single DIN

Post by bidtowin »

Hello people

My stereo is small, as its sitting in the double din. Can anyone point me to a place where i can buy a convertor, i.e so i can put the stereo in and have some more space for fags or something.

Thanks

Most car stereo shops / Halfords will do an adaptor plate to blank out a DIN socket.

I screwed my single DIN stereo into the upper part of the bracket, and bought a DIN tray to slot into the lower half of the DIN bracket. It's big enough for sunglasses, afew CDs etc.

I paid £10 from a small ICE shop, so expect about £20 at Halfords .

Or you can get the same thing from Toyota themselves for around £12.

hi i had the same problem so i went to a scrap yard and found a uk spec mr2 and took the toyota blank plate the single din size plus the frame and you have to screw your stereo into the frame so no chance of it getting nicked but no space for fags halfords do do a little pocket single din thingy but its bad quality or ive found on ebay double din cd/dvd/tv 7" screen combi's realy cheap now that would look cool and fill the gap \:D/

didn't know about the standard Toyota part! tbh the tray I got is a bit rattly.

Personally I'd like a set of these in the gap
