Anyone intrested in the above?
A few people are interested in getting some semi slicks for 1/4 mile bashing etc. I'm sure most people have got their standard alloys sitting at the back of the garage so we were looking at getting a set of rears size 235/60/15 this size i reckon should be man enough for most power outputs. Tyres are pistured here :
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/s ... y_rn=36694
Catalog number : 672-3752R
A company in the Uk can sell them for £320 delivered. If i can get say 5 people interested (no time wasters please) then i'll go to them and see if i can get the price dropped.
So if your interested say so!
Thanks
Dean

No that's fair enough, I was just making sure that was not each (some UK importers DO take the p1$$ to that extent ) so + £40 ish is fine.
They are for my Supra and they will run on Billet 15"x12" split rim.

Re: Mickey thompson Drag radials (street legal)
Some things for you all to consider:
I've used a 255 BFG Drag Radial on a 7" rim.
NoShoes has put a 275 BFG on a 7" rim.
Drag radials are not like regular street tires so you can squeeze them on a narrower rim.
As for the M/T's they grip a lot more from what I understand.
What kind of power levels are you guys running?
It is very easy to get too much tire back there.
If you start grabbing too much you are going to break something OR you are just going ot be carrying unnessecary weight down the track. Tires are rotatioanl weight so that is even worse.
On a drag radial, you only want to do a big burnout the first time you are at the line for EACH day. After that, a healthy dry hop to clean the tire of debris is all that is necessary.
This is one of my 2nd-gear burnouts on the 275 BFG Drag Radials:

240/250, you will be fine with a 235 drag radial.
280/350, you might consider a 255 and 350-500 go for the 275s.
These are not hard-and-fast numbers, just a general guide based one what I have experienced and seen.
Anyone you know that is pushing 300 rwhp that plans on drag racing (especially on drag radials) should consider getting the umpgraded CV joints from ATSRacing.com. The OEM CVs are known to explode under hard launches above 280rwhp.

there you have it guys - you can go wider but do you need it? (well, apart from nod obviously, god knows what his supra is putting out, lol)
think i'll stick with my original choice - 235/60/15

Re: Mickey thompson Drag radials (street legal)
sounds good to me, I think i'll play the dumb card on the cv joints and get them upgraded if/when the standard ones break

That's what I did, of course the ATS cvs weren't an option when mine broke. I enjoyed sitting at the drag strip waiting for 2 hours for a tow truck, then there was the long ride home.
I talked to ATS that week and they just finished their first chromoly cv joint. They sent it to me and we put it on Hyde ... and it's still there 3 years later. You can only guess what it has been through
Re: Mickey thompson Drag radials (street legal)
you just know you need some of these guys - get further up that 1/4 mile table
Guys
On the 1/4 mile strip (Which is where I would use these) whats the expected life span>?

Dean,
I need 4 off 3743R P275/40R17 Mickey Thompson 17" ET Street radials.
Is the group buy going ahead?
If not, what is the price of the tyres without a group buy?
Thanks
Hugh
