WANTED - Super high res pic of MR2s in formation - Anglesey

Post by Icsunonove »

Ok, MartG has a nice pic, this one:

Image

Mart can you email me the full resolution version of this? If you do it may end up on a display on a Mk1Club stand, this ok?

I know Esmond took some pics as well, anyone else?

If anyone else did and doesn't mind it being displayed on a Mk1Club stand, please add your copyright thingy if you want to - please don't make it too big (I don't know how to do it).

Thanks in advance, Tom

(PS Well upset, my car wasn't there, it was zooming around Anglesey looking for fuel. And Lauren's isn't there as well, it was being "Shished" in the pits!)

Oh, it's yours Anna, I didn't realise! :clown:

Esmond, If you could possibly get some thumbnails up, that would be brilliant :D . Then if we could find the best one then you could email it to me and I'll forward it on to get printed professionally. 40Mb a shot though! Errrrm, I am on 2Mb Broadband but I think it may need reducing somewhat.......

Mart, please do email me all the parade lap shots at 1.7Mb.

Yeah, I agree. Some people had total disrespect for the poor little Mk1. I reckon we should start timing and anyone going quicker than 60 seconds around Anglesey should be black flagged

( :( I think that will be the last pic you see of me in the Nail! I've found the only set of brand new Aluminium Metal Matrix (Langxide) brake discs in the country. He's got just one set left (from the 16 he bought when they went bust). He wants £1000 for them! )

Tom, not being funny but are you *sure* they're warped? I've found after trackdays in the MK1 that you can get a bit of brake pedal pulsing, but that's in part due to brake pad deposits on the disk. Given a couple of weeks of normal driving the disks may come back OK.

EG. After the Donnington IMOC trackday last year on MK1a brakes, the pedal pulsed very badly on track - classic warped disks stuff.

But after ~ 4 weeks of road driving they were fine again.

I'd hang back on buying some more brake disks for a few weeks yet just to see if they come good.

Brake technology and friction material is a bit of a black art ..

You make it sound like a bad thing though, just means more trackdays in the SC instead, which is much cheaper on tyres & brakes, and a lot more goonable to boot :)

and you can drive it there and back without all the naily joy of Elise ownership.
