[Mk2 SC] Supercharged V6

Post by MRV6 »

Just had a TRD supercharger fitted to the car! First impressions, it pulls like hell. It's a different power delivery, there is no surge as before, the car had an acis system similar to tvis. Where you hit a sort of power band. Now it's smooth power all the way. I've not had it rolling roaded yet.

I just bought the supercharger, the tensioner pulley, mounting bracket and egr tube were fabricated by A.A.S. Newcastle as always thay have done a cracking job.

Here's some pics of the finished article.

Very, very tidy - I'm well impressed.

Since this is such a unique car, anyone care to put a resale value on it?

Thanks for the kind words. It is all down to Stuart that does my engine work as you can see his workmanship is first class.

Well as for the supercharger, it was second hand but brand new. It came up at about a third of the price of a new one so I had to get it, only thing was it was just the supercharger so there was some fabrication work needed and some additional parts to buy.

A guy had it for sale on toyota nation, then he put it on ebay. We did a deal for it from there.

Got some figs off the toysport website. This is for the stock car, mines a 3.20 pulley running @ 4 psi.

Nice one, MRV6!

So, how much are those SCs new? Anyone sell them here in the UK? Probably TDI, right? :?

So what other pulleys are available, or have people used with this Supercharger? Would be interested to hear how much boost people have been able to get out of these things, and what the boost "curve" looks like.

Does it disengage or something when you come off the throttle, or is it always connected?

Keep up the good work! :thumleft:

If it is a permanant connection, then you need a dump valve.. then when your slowing down from high revs, it'll sound like a kettle going off down the road !! and I'll come round for tea. :clown:
