Afternoon everyone,
I have traced the battery drain on my MR2 down to the boot light staying on. The drain reduces from 310mA to 60mA when removing the bulb and I have confirmed it is staying on by putting my phone in the boot and recording it on video.
Not having a boot light isn't a huge issue but I would rather have it working.... however I cannot see how it knows when to turn on and off.
I couldn't see a switch anywhere like for the doors - can someone please tell me what to look for.
Thanks,
Patrick

If i remember correctly, to the RHS of the boot latch underneath the carpet lining there should be small grey plastic male and female connection. Just unplug that.
This or just take the boot bulb out, very easy to get to get to two seconds job

Yea I have removed the bulb connector on the LH side of the vehicle.
I am asking about there being a switch somewhere to only activate the boot light when the boot is open - surely it isn't on all the time by design.

As Odin hinted at, the switch is built onto the boot catch behind the carpet
