Evening all,
I currently have 245/35/17 Toyo T1R's on my 9j rear Enkie RC5 rims. The tyres are way past their sell by date and need replacing. Problem is, I am struggling to find anything decent in this size. I just fitted Michelin Pilot sport 4's up front and they are great but they don't come in the right size, just 245/40/17.
Other options are the 235/40/17 but there is far less choice in this size and not a PS4.
What would be the best option? The 245/40 would maintain the width and rubber on road but might look 'bulky' as my new fronts do... would the 235/40 stretch to reduce the hight? Does it work like that?
Thanks

Re: Tyre size advice
Having been doing some reading I think the 235 / 40 is out of the question for a 9 inch rim. The 245 / 40 is probably ideal however many people go with a 255 / 40 on a 9j! Who has experience with this size on standard shocks but lowered? Do they rub on the arches?

Why? It's within the generally accepted tyre width range for that wheel size and results in only a little stretch. (I know this as I'm running exactly that combo on my NA).
I can understand preferring a 245 (the 35 profile is the ideal match to the stock rolling radius, but it's got a VERY limited selection of tyres) or wider though.
