Small body repair advice

Post by mrfil13 »

Some **£" hit my car while parked in a car park, they hit the front number corner, smashed the side light, scuffed some of the paint and took a small chunk out from above the sidelight.

The insurance have gotten nowhere so I will probably end up repairing myself while the weather is nice.

Any advice on where to buy the paint (202 black)
Whats best to use to fill in the small chunk and prime it with?

Can try and get a picture on Imgur tomorrow if it helps.

Cheers

Ive used 202 from halfords before. However dont use their laquer as its awful as i cant seem to get a good enough finish with their laquer.
In fact i thought their gloss black was an even better match and you can get that in a bigger can.

i may be wrong but that doesnt look too bad a knock to repair, the key to eveyrthing is prep & take your time, its bloody annoying people doing that & scappering off

Its not a hole the bit above your side light? is it, depends if its cracked "crazed" the paint further up. with regards to how much needs doing

Nope no hole, just brought off all the paint. Will need some smoothing out.
