[Mk2] [Turbo] Brake options for 16" wheels

Post by outrun »

I have staggered R32 GT-R and GTS-T 16s, and ideally I want to keep them.
Anyone running different calipers?

I am interested in the Boxster S Brembo's, but seriously doubt they would fit.

Is there any reason other than cosmetic to upgrade the later model brakes?

As long as your current brake system is in top condition, you won't stop any quicker if that is what you are going for.

I'll be honest, a lot of it is cosmetic. IMO brakes filling the wheels are as important as the wheels themselves, looks wise.
Better fade resistance would be great too, without having to spend a fortune on uprating discs and pads for the OEM calipers.

Been looking at the WoolfKatz Wilwood kits, too.
If I could sack off the OEM rears and not have a xxxx handbrake and sticking issues (not long after rebuild) that would be most welcome.

Hey that is cool, nothing wrong with 'upgrading' them if you want to fill the wheels out more. It might take a little bit of work to get the balance right, but if you are willing to put in the work go for gold 8)

GTST/300ZX front calipers and stock rear caliper with Rx7 discs, main issue is going to be brake balance, will look awesome though.
