Rev 2 Turbo in red (3E6), with a sea of go faster bits on it

Post by Magic Beans »

A bit of background first:

I bought this car earlier in the year. It was previously used as a sprint/track car, but had been left for some time and had developed a serious case of sill rot. My original intention was to harvest it for parts, to feed a Rev 5 Gti I had at the time. However, I decided to save the car, get the sills replaced and get it back on the road. Some time passed, the car had quite a lot of work done to it and pretty much an hour before it was due to come home the turbo failed :( As work had been progressing I had in my mind a limit of what I was prepared to do and spend to get this car sorted, which it passed and the decision was made to break it.

By now the original Rev 5 Gti had been sold to puku, so I didn't have another car for the bits to go into. I was looking at moving on to something else, until I saw a certain car yesterday.... :whistle:

The Rev 2 itself started off as an import Rev 2 G Limited. It was later converted to a Rev 2 turbo by Rogue Motorsport. The engine was fully forged and had a partial Rev 3 conversion (ECU, loom, injectors, IAT, MAP etc). The chassis has pretty much every aftermarket part you would want, with the resulting handling being incredible. The brakes are a Hispec 4 pot monster brake kit (£1000 new!) and are absolute beasts! But still maintain balance with the overall.

Here's a link to my build thread, which details the car since I purchased it. There's quite a few pages, but it's worth the read, so you know what the car is/has: http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic. ... start=2420

Everything is for sale, with the exception of the following, which is either provisionally sold or being transferred over to my next car:

* Forged Rev 2 turbo engine kit (engine, ECU, loom, IAT, MAP, ECU)
* Rogue Revision 6 exhaust
* Tein Superflex coilovers
* Ultra Racing underbody brace
* OS headlight motor

Some of the highlight non-standard bits that are available are:

* Hispec Monster 4 pot big brake kit - 325mm kit including Carbotech pads
* Turbo gearbox including LSD (type unknown at the moment)
* 17" OZ Superleggera wheels, including Kuhmo v700 v70a semi slicks

I'll add to this list with more details and prices shortly. I wanted to get the thread up to raise awareness and for people to register their interest.

The car is physically located at Pistol Pete's place in Kent (TN29). Parts can either be collected from there, posted (if small enough to do so), or collected from me (North Nottingham NG18). I'll be going down there to break the car properly with Pete on the next Bank Holiday weekend (27th May), so anything that needs collecting from me will be back and available as of the evening of the Bank Holiday Monday (29th) onwards.

It will be in pieces after this coming weekend. If anyone is interested in anything larger, wants to collect and is based further north let me know. I'll be bringing bits back up with me, where they can be collected from NG18 :thumleft:

Which wiring bits do you need? Just the tails that link to the horn, or running back to the actual horn too?

Think we need it from the steering controls on wards.
My dad has bought a car that was stripped for track.We are nearly there but it has a momo steering wheel and a bodged boss for it. The horn has never worked and i took the boss off to find there is no wires from the column that goes through the boss to the horn switch. I know there is a sort of metal plate as well that goes between the boss and wheel and that is also missing.

The horn works on this one, so I'm assuming it's all there.

I'd need to check everything this weekend, but assuming it is I could do you it for £27.50 inc delivery :thumleft:

It's now a sea of parts. PMs have gone out to everyone who wanted various bits, the rest is fair game.

We'll update the list over the next day or so.

Do you have a price in mind for the gearbox?

Was it in good working order? Any crunches or whines?

Thanks

The gearbox is in good shape. No crunching, no whining etc. Didn't do a lot of miles with it but the miles we did do it didn't miss a beat. The gearbox oil was changed recently too.

It has an LSD in it, which I'm assuming you also want? Not really wanting to split them.

Cluster connectors...

Post by tehdub »

Hi,

I am after the connectors for the speedo/gauge cluster.

I don't need the whole loom, just the connectors with about 6 inches of wire hanging off.

Any chance these are available please?

Cheers,

Tom
