1998 Factory Spec Revision 5 Turbo - Genuine TOMs T020 kit

Those who understand their MR2s, will know that these are extremely rare to come by, as only a handful were ever made. They are the ultimate MK2, and featured a few nice enhancements over the earlier revisions (not to mention, lack of rust). This includes driver and passenger air bags, side impact bars, automatic central locking upon start up etc.

This particular car has a GENUINE T020 TOMs body kit, which is very rare. The fitment is like stock, and with its subtle and sleek style, it doesn't look like a body kit at all.

Since I bought the car, I have done, or added the following:

Full respray in the cars original colour (Toyota Super White 040) by a professional garage, oven baked. It's in showroom condition! (Carried out ~6 months ago).
Two Bride Low Max bucket seats welded to adjustable rails.
Stack Pro Range Oil temp and pressure gauges, individually fused to meet Stack guidelines and not daisy chained. Housed in an 'mr2eddy' custom dash pod, and routed through the firewall inside a rubber jacket for protection.

Matte Bronze staggered JR3 alloy wheels. 17x9 +35 on the rears, 17x8 +35 on the fronts + new wheel bolts. The perfect size for the MR2 with zero arch rub.
Pirelli P-Zero tyres. 245/40/R17 on the rears. 205/40/R17 on the fronts.
Blitz boost gauge (with overboost warning and memory function).
HKS boost controller. (Purchased used and fitted myself).
Suspension change from a very low mileage donor car. Work carried out by MR2 specialist Peter Gidden.

Sony MP3 Stereo linked into stock wiring harness using specific adaptor.
Oil sandwich plate.
Ganador side mirrors, with electronics linked to stock door switches.
Apexi Exhaust with blitz downpipe. (Was on the car from Japan).
Apexi induction kit (Was on the car from Japan).
CAT1 Alarm and Immobilizer with installation certificate from authorized Laserline dealer. (Has 2 remote keb fobs, and a physical over-ride key).

Quad rear light conversion.
Original 'Man In Dandism' Mats in perfect condition.
Genuine Toyota sill plates.
Single DIN storage unit fitted below stereo.

Custom made Inertia reel harnesses, securely bolted through the rear firewall with correct sized spreader plates. (These were modified by Corbeau UK to meet road safety standards, and to my knowledge, are the only ones to exist in the UK. They offer stock like movement in the cabin, but with the look and feel of a true harness. No summer sweating or movement restriction! Receipts and email to prove).

Most of the above modifications were new (unless specified otherwise), and added less than 150 miles ago, so are still virtually brand new with receipts to prove. The wheels and seats literally don't have a single mark on them. Clearly, at the time I wasn't planning on selling, and have treated the car to anything and everything it needed (and...didn't need) ;)

I haven't had the car on a dyno, but judging from past MR2s and the general consensus here, it should be running around 270-280bhp.

It has only been in the country a few years (registered September 2015), with me being the only owner. It hasn't seen a day of our salty winter roads, and has been garaged religiously. It is easy to insure as a classic car, with my current policy being only £187 a year! I would be happy to see about transferring the insurance policy if it helped.

So why am I selling after adding all of the above so recently..? My one and only reason for sale, is that I have recently purchased another car as I need 4 doors these days. I wasn't planning on selling it (as the above mods and age will demonstrate) but I don't really have the space to store two cars. It starts perfectly both hot and cold, and doesn't miss a beat. If I had the space and funds to keep both, it would be with me for the rest of time.

Prices are on the rise across all revisions these days, so it's a good investment for anyone. I have included photos of the sills and boot area to prove no rust, along with photos of the TOMs inner stamps and VIN plate to verify it's a JDM Rev5. I have also added a photo of the gauges to show a healthy oil temp and pressure whilst on idle after a long drive. I am more than happy to take more photos to demonstrate any aspect of this car.

If you want the very latest version of a MK2 in superb condition in every area, along with many desirable and rare modifications, this Mr2 will be almost impossible to beat. I changed the oil upon collection of the car, along with having the cambelt done for peace of mind.

I fully stand by my advert. The cars condition can be verified by MR2 specialist Peter Gidden. I have been a reputable member of the MR2 community/forums for over 14 years, with this being my third and favourite MK2.

Cash on collection or advanced bank transfer accepted. Test drive would be ok with myself driving, weather permitting. I am open to overseas purchases, and would be happy to meet at my local airport. I know that due to conversion rates and/or lack of availability, many are choosing to now buy from the UK.

-------------------------------------------
There are a few minute stone chips on the front bumpers lower section, as to be expected with any fibreglass body kit. They are almost undetectable as the car is white.

The centre gauge could do with replacing to match the outer two Stack gauges, something I was going to look at in the summer.

£8995 ono.

You spend that much time customising the advert to suit the location, that you completely forget to add one of the most important parts. Doh! Updated :)

I forgot to add the mileage, as it was copied from another location where it was displayed in another box.

Upon collection of the car, I promptly searched for a Stef Derner clamping delimiter (extremely hard to find these days!) as it's the cleanest way of converting to mph, whilst still retaining the red JDM speedo. This was only about 30-40 miles after purchasing it.

I calculated it having only 90,347 miles, which equates to roughly 5000 miles per year.

Thanks a lot sinjen. I had a lot of interest at the original price. I'd have thought it would have been gone in hours for the current price! It's a bargain for its condition and mileage.

It shouldn't be on for much longer, summer car sales are picking up now. :thumleft:

Bump and price drop to £7995 or best offer. Someone will be very lucky to own this, and it wants for nothing.

Hey Chris. Thanks for the kind words. I'm also genuinely shocked too. It's so cheap at the lowered price for the condition it's in!
