New Stainless Steel Cancer Bars

Post by Charged »

We are pleased to release our new improved stainless steel chassis support bars, aka cancer bars.

These are made from hi polish 304 stainless steel tube. Certainly not to be confused with what you can find on ebay, which are tubes clamped flat in a vice. When you flatten the tube you lose structural rigidity.

We have copied the way Toyota make the originals, which retains far more rigidity.

All sales, pack and post will be done by me so feel free to send me a PM for further details.

Updated price February 2016: £65 delivered (U.K.)

So a few questions with regards to fitment. It's all very straight forward. The only tools you need are:

Ratchet / socket set with 10 + 14mm sockets.

The only thing in your way are under trays, all the fittings are 10mm. Work them out slowly, 2 turns out, one turn in. They are prone to snapping if you're not careful.

Then you'll see the rotten bars, undo both 14mm bolts, and you're there.

Offer the new bars up, and put both bolts in lightly with a dab of copper grease and tighten up.

Here's a set fitted.

Update on Cancer Bars.. we're out of stock I'm afraid!

The first batch sold out within two days, the second batch have all gone now (holding one set for a member).

We'll have these re-stocked by next week :thumleft:

Sorry if this is a dumb question, is it easy to paint them or does stainless not take paint?

Powder coating sounds good, can't have shiny stainless - would make the rest of the car look shabby!

Any idea on powder coating costs? Easy enough to paint myself if worst comes to worst.

Have you had any interest in making them for the MK3? They suffer the same issue...

We haven't actually John, we haven't got any Mk3's in at the moment but if anyone has a rusted set of old Mk3 bars then I'm sure we could look to replicate a set :thumleft:
