possible group buy.....madpsi ducktail spoiler

Post by mk2mattw »

I have always wanted one of these ducktail/spoiler combos as they are a serious bit of sexy kit!Haha
I have been talking to carbenfibrecreations and he has said with 5 or more people interested he could make a good quality one....question is who else wants some bodywork porn? Haha

Im guessing this is the one? If so, that is one sexy piece of kit, that's seriously good looking, this is incredibly tempting.

Question, are ducktail spoilers actually functional, or is it purely aesthetic?

Afaik poya doesn't wind-tunnel test these or alike so its more than likely just for looks.

Also, i think you would be lucky to get one now as most of his stuff is limited edition and he sells out pretty dam quick!! :(

Spoken to Ben this morning-looking between £250-£275 for fibreglass and £350-£375 in carbon.....this is a big saving if you look on the madpsi site!
Current exchange rate is £512 for carbon one from mad psi.....pretty good saving!!!

I'm interested, where is the mold for the copy coming from? A genuine mad psi spoiler?

It will be scratch built by Ben!

Anyone know of a good condition rev3 bootlid going spare as he will need one so he can get cracking with it!

I looked in to getting one from madpsi a few years ago and thought £512 wasn't too bad, but then I looked into shipping of a suitable standard and it almost doubled the cost! so £350-375 is damn good value really!

I doubt it. I suspect the IMOC committee would have a dim view of another respected, sole-trader MR2 specialist's product being so obviously ripped off and sold through this forum.
