Damn. After getting the MR2 trackday bug yesterday, I'm away in France that weekend.

I'm hoping the 1.5 will be ready by then as well.

Cheers Anna,

I didn't realise us ordinary folk were allowed to post in the calendar. I thought it was just for admins / mods, but apparently not. I think it's a really good idea allowing everyone to post, why make unnecessary work for the admin / mods, when it's so simple to add to the calendar...?

Really looking forward to this one, just hope the weather is ok, my car's rubbish in the wet!

I was eyeing this one up, Anglesey is fantastic. I'll probably go if I get back from Germany in one piece!

Is this an unofficial SC meet? ;)
I could be tempted, I'll check I'm free... Are you all going for Sat & Sun? I'd prob just do the Saturday and get back home for Sunday if I do go.

Anna, Speedy and Si intend on driving both days. I am only driving on the Sunday but will be there on Saturday to watch, hopefully hitch a few passenger rides and make sarcastic comments! :clown:

It's not an SC meet at all, it's just a coincidence that the first four are.

It's a top little track by the way (if you don't know it). And the scenery is absolutely breath-taking! The track has got everything: Loads of gradient, a super fast double apex right-hander, a downhill straight which leads into a real sharp hairpin (you really have to stand on the brakes  ). And there's the radar complex left / right, where you have to turn in really early. I actually aim at the marshals post and hope it understeers enough to miss him!

Here's a pic from last time out at Anglesey:

Here's one of the Supercharger posse in the pits:

And here's one that shows how close you are to the Irish sea:

OOOH very tempting..... I shall have to see about money and if my car is fit and healthy for it...

The thing that puts me off is I quite enjoyed the open pitlane setup we had at elvington.. Is the way anglesea is setup so that you get 1x20 min session on track every hour?

Yes Goldy, that's right. It's one session every hour. I must admit I now prefer open pitlane, but I was glad of the sessioned trackdays when I was new to it. Here's the reason why.....

Some of the cars that turn up at these trackdays are mega quick, things like Radicals and the powerful Caterhams and Westfields. With sessioned trackdays you can go in a group you are comfortable with.

The benefit of this is you are not having to look in your mirrors all the time. I once went got sessioned by accident with a load of these mega powerful 500kg cars and it spoilt the trackday. I couldn't concentrate on my own driving because I was having to lift off on nearly every straight!

Conversely I have also been in a Beginners group after I'd done a few trackdays and that was also a pita.

I'm going to sit it out a bit and see what's going before I decide which session to opt for.

IMHO, sessions are a necessary evil when you've got those kinds of performance differentials on a circuit with a sub 60 second lap time.. shame really but there you go.

Tom - are you on a modifying post day today? I keep on coming back to find loads of pictures have been added to your posts!

:D Alex, I'll tell you why!

I've just repaired my desktop PC (which has been dead for about 6 months) and had all my photographs on it. So I've been looking through them all and trying to flower up things to get people interested!

Steve,

We are looking at hiring a cottage but we need definite answers from people so i can sort it out with Jonny.

There may well be crasheage space in the lounge etc.. though.

Let us know if you are interested.

At the moment we are going for three bed cottage i think, if we go to the next one up because of the cost we need to look at getting ten people. We'd need another definite, though it works out better costwise if you'd stay two nights as we have to split the bill between ten of us IYSWIM.

moving this to Motorsport, it is a trackday after all. ;)
