Had some interest in this from a few people so thought I would see if there was enough interest to start a group buy as a first batch.

Our 25 mm CNC machined spacer made from aircraft grade aluminium, gold anodised. Comes complete with new bolts and, genuine toyota ACIS gasket.

Here's a pic of one fitted to our engine in our race car.

Picture without cover on can also be seen on our website

http://www.hurleyraceengineering.co.uk/page4.htm

Prices

single unit kit - 159.99
2 - 3 units - 150
4- 7 units - 140
8 - 14 units - 135
15 plus - 130

Postage will be 7 pounds to a uk address,

Group buy will run until 30th September, please PM to be part of it and I will update a list . Once the buyers are finalised and cost is determined i will need a 50% deposit by Paypal from each buyer before I manufacture the batch . The Other half to be paid once the batch is ready.

The main benefit is that it add's more torque which is handy on the Rev 3. I had one and noticed an increase from 2k rpm where it felt noticeably quicker,

In addition upon putting the car on a dyno I also found my car was still making power at the rev limiter as opposed to another GT which was standard which peaked around 7k

yep, what ryan said.

taken from our website.

''The HRE ACIS Volume Plate increases torque at acis change over by changing the acoustic signal and providing a larger chamber of air to draw upon, which in turn increases power, typical gains 3-7 bhp on an engine in good Condition. Works especially well on engines running fast road cams with a greater overlap than standard''

Sure...two reasons really. its what we felt was right for the engine,( using experience from other similar engines) and the fact that the majority of people will have standard cams or fast road cams.

Also it's a stock material size. Therefore eliminating wastage and keeping cost down. Can make them any size you like however cost will vary.

Does this mod work on most engines?

There must be some kind of trade off between the increased air and thus power and torque, and something else? Why don't cars come with enlarged plenums from the factory?

Would it work as well/better/worse on a larger engine? An 8 cylinder?

It depends on what the engines acis type system/ plenum are like and how well they breathe to start with.

With any modification to any engine there is nearly always a trade off, whether it be induction noise, fuel economy , engine bay/ bonnet restrictions, cost to the manufacturer etc. These are all reasons as to why manufacturers do the things they do. The same question could be asked about free flowing exhaust manifolds etc

As to a v8 again it depends on the engine. All engines are effectively air pumps, so to increase power you have to have better breathing, more air or turn it faster , more revs.

Work on a rev5, stock engine. Gasket wise do you supply one for top and bottom of spacer?

I'd be interested if it gives the same gains on a Rev5. What could I expect with a standard cam? Also, how much would an additional gasket be?

Cheers

I have just fitted a ACIS spacer / power deck spacer. Made a bit of difference low - mid in torque. Slight bhp gain i think. But definitely noticeable and i'd recommend buying one!
