It looks good, and clears the Rev5 spoiler! One thing I'd be a little cautious of is the metal buckle thing that's over the blade, at speed that's going to vibrate and possibly damage the spoiler. Maybe wrap some foam or something around it??

Ah good stuff :thumleft: I was thinking maybe a small piece of pipe lagging or something similar.

How much was it/where did you get it from etc. Just incase people are after one :)

There was a car on ebay that had a bike rack that mounted the bike above the engine bay but I cant find it again.

Or the Saris Solo that I use fits with (any?) spoiler, although it only does 1 bike. No bits of metal to scrape on anything either :thumleft:

Just put it in the car.

I have a large (19") bike and just put it on the passenger seat. Also do the same in my MX5.

No damage to paint or risk to bike.

There is no way in hell his bike would ever fit inside the MR2. It's very long and has pretty much no 'quick release' bits :)

I had a towbar on my old na mr2. Used a Thule towball mounted rack and carried two mtb's easily. No straps on the bodywork either.

Was going to suggest a tow bar as you will need tow bar electrics and a trailer board with either of the ones shown above to be legal.

The Thule racks have a trailer board incorporated in them. Wiring is easy to do.

The contraptions in this thread make me nervous.

is a towbar a fairly permanent thing?
I wouldn't want to ruin the car and make it trickier to sell

No, its quite straightforward to fit or remove. I sold mine on before I sold the car. I was never happy with the racks that just strap on the back of the car. Towbar ones are far more secure.
