MR2 of the month

Post by Quigonjay »

can we have a monthly 'MR2 of the month' competition with the winner taking pride of place on the home page?
voted for in a poll by the members, the winners pics/details are displayed for a month until the next poll takes place
plenty of other forums doing it and i think it would be a good addition to imoc :thumleft:

Then it would be a popularity contest.

I'd be up for it, but I dont think IMOC would like a banned traders logos on the front page

Not a great fan . . . it kind of becomes 'who can take a good photo competion' .

Other clubs have it so we should do something different.

We used to have a showcase section for cars, but it kinda died a death and iirc, we rolled it back in with the main section. Shame really - i'd like to do something similar.

It's good for a couple of months, but it gets hard pretty quick to find more and interesting cars which are of the same standard..

I like the idea of a monthly competition though. I guess if it was MR2's we would run out of nice ones after so long...it would end up the same few people winning all the time!

I like the photography competition that another forum has, quite a few people on here are in to their photography and the pics change with different themes etc each month.

Any other ideas for monthly competitions?

Car and driver...

Post by HighwayStar »

How about a comp judged on a combo of both pics and write up (with min/max word count limits) but about both owner & car (Car & Driver? Toy & Child? My Addiction?)... submitted by the regional reps. Each region puts in one car/member a month and the forum votes?
They could conduct them on any combo they consider suitable or those proposed and voted by others.. maybe at IMOC meets to ensure we get as many active members as possible and make it as easy as poss on the reps. Those interested could supply their own written article to help and their own pics... most have them in their garages anyway.
Regional heats before the national final? Quarterly winners for a calendar shoot (I'm offering to shoot it first..err, dibs.) with the result to be sold by the club, profits to the club coffers.

This is a good idea :thumleft: I think we need something to interest us other than just reading threads and attending shows. Obviously it will all be a little bit of fun. Id like to see prizes and premium members being entitled to some more merchandise. Eg the odd key ring wouldnt go a miss !!!

Well you can have my photographic services for a very good rate.... How many separate regions are there?
You want to have a go at knocking together some rules/guidelines to see what people think?

Hmmm. Not really sure if you're trying to make a point or not... and if you are I don't know what it is. What is it?
