Hey, Ive seen a thread about this in 2005 but I recieved a spam message today.................see below........

Subject: Take measures immediately!!! Quote message
Dear, goodfella!

Spam sending from your computer was detected.
We highly recommend you to check your computer and perform online virus check at our site immediately: (link removed just incase  - mods)
If you do not pass this test we will have to delete your account and forward a complaint to your ISP with attached log file (your IP address, etc.).

Anyway, Im not sure who deals with this but perhaps someone can check out the user JoshuaaNave......perhaps he himself doesnt know he sent it??

Thanks
Rich

I have received an identical message from the same 'user' except timed at 5:57 pm and with a subtly different link address except it goes to the same place.

These appear to be related to this topic except from a different 'user'. These have got to be automated - far too many being sent out if the other thread is anything to go by.

Just to reiterate that IMOC will never send out this kind of PM to any member, and we certainly do not have the technology to detect spam from any user computer.

Please do not click on any links that are sent to you and flag it up to a member of the committee or moderator team ASAP.

We are working behind the scenes to establish a way of preventing this going forward.

Thanks

Its an attack site, Firefox pops up a warning luckily. Chances are that anyone who accesses the site will get infected, so steer clear.

I've got it as well! Is it possible to respond to the PM without it allowing infection ie. not visiting the site/clicking on the link but just sending a PM reply telling him I look forward to meeting with him and punching him to the ground?
