Post by splintermcinnes »

setting up a group bye over on www.Twobrutal.com more the merrier (cheeper)

The deal is to group bye the Link units from Thor racing, then Ryan from 2bartuning has offered to do a group bye discount to fit and map all those units involved in the group buy, including rewiring the units/harness to make them plug and play!

Check here for details:-

http://forums.twobrutal.com/showthread. ... post181313

if this link isnt allowed then this is what i have just got from Thor on Link unit prices, once we have numbers involved we can get details on fitting and mapping costs:-

from twobrutal post=

Ok, just got this from Thor: -

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the enquiry, we always welcome group buys.

We can offer you the following discount structure on the Link Storm G4 -
http://www.thor-racing.co.uk/Link_ST...-THOR00371.asp

1 - 4 units = 0% (702 + VAT each)
5 - 9 units = 10% (£631.80 + VAT each)
10 + units = 15% (£596.70 + VAT each)

You will also require a "Loom A" to install the Storm G4, these are an
additional £52 + VAT. We can offer the same discount structure for these 10% /
15%.

If you need any additional information then please get in touch,

p.s. we're on Skype 9am - 6pm if that helps!

Best Regards

Charlie

Got this from Ryan: -

Road Map = £240
Dyno and Road Map = £325

For any V6 owner though IMO the car would have to be done on the dyno to find the best power and torque. Turbos you can get away with road mapping because they make peak power and torque most of the time at the point of knock as the engines are Knock limited so you never will find MBT unless on race fuel. The V6 engines generally make peak power and torque before knock so you need the dyno to find the best ignition timing settings.

The link plug and play loom adaptors are £100 or i can wire into the car for £80.

Recommend the Plug and play loom adaptors due to none of the stock loom has to get hacked and you can then use the Ecu you invested in on another car and place the stock unit back on the car if you wanted.

I have the use of about 12 dyno's i use around the UK to cover all areas. If i have to travel to say more than 50 miles away i charge extra diesel costs for the Passat

Ryan

Its getting confusing as a couple of people have jumped in on my thread and theres offers flying round all over the place!! Trying to finalise the full package deal still at the min.

Good prices, I'll keep an eye on this as i'm not needing an ECU at the mo but if the buys still running and I happen to have the spare cash I may take an ECU for future use,... possibly :eye:

WRT to the plug and play loom mentioned above, does that work with the G4?

Yep I'm still a definite, not in a massive rush to get it due to slightly unforeseen events, but if it's at a discount I'll have it :)

Cool,

Out of interest, I have just had a look at the group buy section on MR2oc.co.uk and I didnt see this group buy on there and wondered would it be worthwhile listing it there aswell. I know most people who register with one site registers with most, but we only need 1 more and MR2oc is a great website.

Let me know your thoughts.
