Yeah, seconded... and the amount of posts like this about 3S speaks volumes about the great service they provide.

I spent 2-3 hours with James going through problems I had, I left with piece of mind and a healthy Mk1 turbo! Oh and got charged only £40 for all that time!

keep up the good work chaps!

Ditto...although Basingstoke only has so much to offer.

I was there from 9-6 (clutch and cambelt  )

Amelio,

I was in Basingstoke for 6 hours whilst 3S did my clutch!

Good points:

1. Decent shopping centre.
2. Decent cinema (went to see a movie to kill time).
3. Plenty of choice for lunch.
4. Huge amount of tidy looking birds!

Bad points:

1. There is only so much time you can spend walking round shops (if you're a bloke).

Went with a mate there.

Time spent involved a Burger King breakfast and reading a newspaper, a HMV visit and general wonder round shops, Choosing the longest film at the cinema which happened to be Spiderman 3. Lunch, more wondering and totty spotting and then brief sleep in the car before picking up the 2.

Overall, not a bad place, kinda like many other "re-furbed" Town/cities.

Over the last 4 months James and his team have helped me convert
a fairly knackered but unmodified Rev2 turbo into the track focused car
that I've been after.

3S gave the car a general service just after I bought it and fitted new
brake discs/pads all round. James spotted a few other things that needed
fixing (ball joints and shocks) so some Tein coilovers went on along with
new suspension bushes. It turned out that the steering rack and driveshaft
gaiters were either split or on the way out so James managed to get hold
of the parts and fit them in time for the trackday I had booked for the
following day ...

The car was fantastic on track. The handling was spot on (bear in mind
that I hadn't had chance to get alignment done either!) and the brakes
held up to a fair amount of torture with no fade. We did end up with a
slight (ahem!) cooling issue which James tracked down to a duff radiator
so that's now been fixed too.

I asked James for advice on improving the mid-range torque and he gave
me a ton of options. The car's back in his workshop having a whole host of
goodies fitted which should transform the performance ... I can't wait to
play around on track once it's finished :D

James and the team really know their stuff and the work done is
of a very high standard. I can't rate them highly enough and my car
is certainly not going to be touched by anyone else. The advice and
answers to my stupid questions are much appreciated too :thumleft:

Yes James is quietly confident with a great sense of humour most likeable
kind, generous and knows the two like the back of his hand along with
fair pricing and good job results.
