310 bhp SCOOBY

Post by The Morris »

Just played golf with a guy who had a 310bhp scooby (rr'd). Had a race with him out of 2 roundabouts along the dual carraigeway and mine was a bit quicker both times. Hes gutted and wants to sell it now :D

Which scooby was it?

My old 300bhp type R, was a total beast. not a lot of things would have beaten it. 4 secs to 60! and cornered like it was on rails.

It was coming off a medium sized roundabout, I was on the power loads earlier than he was though, left him for dead in the rear view mirror - he started to catch up once he got moving but then dropped back once the speed got well into 3 figures - i can assure he as was definitely trying ;)

Bikes aren't all that. A friend of mine has a new Z750 and we had a play the other day. Again, up to 3 figure speeds, he couldn't keep with me.

As for the scooby, it depends on where the 310bhp was measured, if it was at the flywheel, the they must have a substantial transmission loss on them??

My mate has just put his uk 2005 sTi in for the 305bhp prodrive upgrade because my MR2 was faster than it it std 265bhp spec.
So I wonder what will happen now?

I'm 263bhp 243lb/ft, @ John Nobles 1330kgs

He will be 305bhp 299lb/ft, 1470kgs

I think it will be very close........

I'd put my money on the 2 there, but it would be very close. There would probably only be a nose in it.

To the chap whose mate is getting the STi upgrade pack (or PPP), i hope he is getting it for free as last week in autocar, it was announced that subaru were giving a PPP upgrade to STi's and an STi upgrade to WRX's due to the launch of the Mitsi Evo IX

From a standing start, the scooby.

On the twisties, the scooby.

everything else the Mr2.

Of course, this is all depending on which scooby it is?

i dislike scoobies immensely. my friend has a 450BHP Audi A4. looks almost standard aprat from the lowering and the nice alloys.

not much can touch it. he also owns a Noble GTO which he did the Gumball in last year, it gets all the looks but the Audi is faster

If you're referring to my post

MR2 1330kg 270bhp@f/w (243lb/ft)
STI PPP 1470kg 300bhp@f/w (299lb/ft - ouch)

At the wheels I'm not sure. :?
