Elvington, 20th March 1/4 Test day

Post by dazza9t9 »

There is a 1/4 miles TEST DAY at elvington ont he 20th of March,
There is no knock outs or competitions its pretty much run wot ya brung. Not sure the price but i have been told its at discounted prices (dont hold me to any of this!)

this is the post from the straightliners web site
"Just so everyone knows, in case they haven't looked at the Car Dates, there is a test day at Elvington on 20th March, one week before the first meeting. This will not be the usual set-up as it's for testing purposes only and there will also be cars there. Not sure if i will be there myself, but see you all on the 27th."

IS ANYONE GOING DOWN???

Directions for Elv:

RAF Elvington is situated 7 miles south east of York City and 2 miles north west of Elvington Village. The site lies adjacent to the B1228 Elvington Lane which leads to the A64 York Bypass.

From the B1228 look for Halifax Way and Whitby Road which lead to the entrance gate to the airfield (on the right of the entrance to the Air Museum).

It's close to York Dragway but not the same place so be careful :)

Easiest route I've found is A64 and then look for the signs to the Air Museum - job done.

I'll try and pop up, not sure if I'll race but I should be able to watch if I haven't got any other plans.

What do you need to know?

It's likely to be around £40 as normal, top speed and 1/4 mile, helmets required and I believe it's long sleeves only this year.

I'll be keeping my Meets & Events section updated with any info I get as usual:

http://www.megaboost.co.uk/vbb/

York & Elvington dates currently up there.

this is a post fromt he straght liners message board about the day!

The test day on 20th march is for cars and bikes. There will be timing equipment set up but it will be quarters only, NO flyers. There will be no qualifying or eliminations, it will be for testing and setting up your bike or car only. Still a good day though we hope.

Not sure of the price, i belive its not the usual £40 its cheaper but i will let u know when i find out!
