Just finished taking out the dreaded pre-cats. Car is a 53 and at 32k, the pre-cats looked fine but I am still happier with them out.
Took about 3.5 hrs and went okay thanks to the guide on here. I had to pay 8 quid for a oxy sensor socket but took care of the rest with a 1/2 " and 3/8" socket set. Gaskets went back on okay too.
Sheared a bolt underneath that holds the plastic tray up but drilled it out and used a couple of tie-wraps to secure.
The car feels like it can "breath" now too, a bit like after you have had a new car and the engine loosens up. I am sure it's slightly different. Didn't notice anything negative.

I think the general consensus is it does release a few small ponies!
Re: Job Done.
I would agree with that, and you don't have to let your insurance know unlike if you fit an aftermarket manifold.......do you?????
Re: Job Done.
I wouldn't bother....looks standard!
