Hi guys,
I'm going to buy baffles as a backup for an upcoming track day, just wanted to gauge whether it will do any harm running with these in for a 2 hour session.
I know I'll be slightly down on power, which I can live with if it means not getting kicked off the track.
This is the baffle type I'm looking at:

I'm running the normal bolt on mods at approx 300bhp
My cousin seems to think this will kill my turbo as it will heat up??
Track day with baffles - bad for the turbo?

I doubt you'll be too loud for any track in terms of static, and for drive by unless you get some real gunshot bangs on overrun I wouldn't worry. Those ones you linked to don't tend to fit well anyway. Save your pennies and get a nice cone that will fit snug in your tailpipe (ooh matron).
As for damage, you're right to worry as far as I can tell from anecdotal sources. Someone clever will hopefully be along to explain the science.

Thanks JD, have ordered the cone style one. Hopefully they make and audible difference!

What exhaust do you have? Decat?
Re: Track day with baffles - bad for the turbo?
Not sure on the decat it was in the car when I got it. As for the exhaust it is a japspeed style exhaust from amazon

You may have issues with a decatted japspeed without bungs. May be worth buying an exhaust not cobbled together out of tinpot from shenzhen
