You talking about the Half-life Orange Box mate?

5 games in one. HL2, HL2 E1, HL2 E2, Portal and Team Fortress.

You're answering your own questions mate....Half-life 1 is what it is....HL2 is the 2nd game (much better) and HL2 Episode 2 and Episode 3 are the next add ons.

E1 is ok, E2 is much better.

So much like Halo 3 it's a sequel to a game not even available for the 360?

Half Life was a bench mark title when it came out years ago. Its a great FPS and had what very few FPS titles had at that point ... a storyline.

You can get the orginal Half life for the Xbox and play it on your 360 if you want, so you know the story.

The Orange box is basically Half Life 2, Epidsode 1 and Episode 2. Plus 2 other games - Portal which is a puzzle game and Team Fortress wich is a multiplayer FPS. Lots of game and worth it alone just for HL!

I have a copy to sell if your interested Matt? You wont be dissapointed!

I dont want to be playing old xbox games. I didnt like the old one or the PS2 at all.

Is it any good without knowing the story from the first game?

Yes you can pick it up without having to know HL1.

In fact I might boot it up for a replay.

I feel you would be at a disadvantage not knowing how the original works and certain parts of the storyline won't make a lot of sense. ]
If you don't want to play the first one through then to be honest I would leave it and look elsewhere. The game is story driven and without that it would lose some of its appeal.
Also the games graphics aren't groundbreaking and I get the impression this is where your kicks may lie.
It's a great value package and a must for anyone into the series but visually its not up there with the best.

Bender, I would be tempted to hang on to the orange box if you have it.

I can see episode 3 coming as downloadable content when it comes and I reckon you will need the orignal disc to play it.

It was wierd, some parts look a bit cartoony but some looked pretty good. It seems like my kinda game but I just dont fancy playing through an old old game.

I recognised the birds dads voice as well.

this is one of the best series of games ever made, when i bought the orange box i got hl1 on the ps2 just to play it through again to get back into the story. like already said it is a full on story mode. like you dont do anythink for the first 20 mins cause it is getting you into the story and moving you from room to room. well worth it though. oh it looks better on the ps3 than xbox :eye: :eye: :eye: :eye: :eye: :eye: :eye: :eye: :eye:

Think he's been in a lot of things I've seen over the years. He has a very regognisable voice.

I see Lou Gossit Jnr is one voice as well.

 i think youll find the 360 version is far superior to the PS3 version.

360 version was made at valve where as the PS3 version was made by some second rate EA team and was plagued with bugs (or so all the reviews/previews say).

They were previewing unfinished versions, The release version isn't as bad as they were making out.

I got it this week and the only bad thing i can say about it so far is the loading times which are rediculously slow (depite it installing 500meg to the HD) Team Fortress is ace and has logged in every time i've fired it up (and it's managed to keep me away from Warhawk for a few hours)

Very true. The 360 version looks and plays much better than the PS3 version.

You can't get Half-life on the Xbox...? :-k Never seen it...I'd have it otherwise!

I know its on the PC, and WAS gona come out on the Dreamcast...they finished the game...then scrapped it over shipping problems! ](*,) [-X
