2D versions were so much better than the 3D crap.

MK2 was the best!

I loved the original on the Mega Drive. It looked like photo animation or something.

I loved being Sub Zero and ripping their head off for the "finish him" death move.

The spine used to come out and there would be blood dripping!

It was. They used real actors.

The original on arcade was the best! I remember it costing 10p a go at the local fair! Loved that machine. The volume always seemed to be turned up to max. Whenever Raiden slammed you against a wall it hurt your ears lol.

In all honesty I've loved all of the MK series, even the RPG type ones.

Right, and you know this how? MK was a blatant gimic with little real gameplay, granted MK2 was a lot better than the first but still not a very good title.

It pales in comparison to SF2, King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown and many others of its type.

Killer Instinct was awful, IIRC it had HUGE pre-rendered sprites (like Donkey Kong Country).

Don't think that's the one he's thinking of though, as I have vague memories of another beat-em-up that used 'digitised' images (or whatever the word was back then).

Yeah Killer Instinct was sh*te! Looked amazing in the arcades but played utter crap!! 150+ hit combo's!! hahaha!

MK2 was excellent! Great charaters, great moves and wicked death moves!

Yes i like it.Still 2d which is good.
I dont think anyone will buy it tho as so much about realism nowadays.
