Nintendo Wii

Post by Bender Unit »

Can anyone give an opinion on if these are any good? Its not for me its for my Fiancé. She hasn’t really been interested in my consoles in the past but she seems to have got into Guitar Hero and its playing the demo on my 360. Since that she has expressed interest in the Wii.

Are they actually fun, do they have enough for a non gamer to get into gaming? Or are they a bit of a fad. Personally I don’t see the attraction but then you would have to pry my 360 out of my cold dead hands. However having played a dual game of GH4 on the 360 with the woman it is quite good fun, and I would think that a few of their interactive games would also be quite amusing when played together.

Not going to spend the £££££ that they are going for at the moment, but might be able to get one sent over from Egypt or Dubai (that’s if they aren’t coded in Arabic or something)

Just interested in some opinions.

Cheers

Since, er, Feb. Tis a great little thing indeed. Perfect for parties and gatherings. Last used at the Rockingham weekender, and I still play Wii golf :+:

my mate just sold one on ebay for

£265 !!!!!!!

he managed to get 2, so he put one on the bay. he reckons its the perfect console for kids or "havin' a laugh" type gaming.

extra controllers are in short supply too

(meant to be no supply problems in Germany though)

Are they region specific? If so thats gay? However Dubai sold electronics are supposed to be the same as UK spec units.

I'm told that Jap ones wont play UK games due to region coding.

Not sure what region UAE will fall under.

I bought one after a month or so of them being out, phoned virgin megastores every morning to see if they had any in stock as they wouldn't reserve one but they did do student discount. Really good fun when in a group, i got mine whilst at uni last year played it almost every day. Mostly wii sports as the other games at the time were completed within a few days and got exchanged. However returned from uni for summer and didn't play it once coz had better things to do, in the end i sold it for over £300 on ebay. Hope that helps
