Anyone have 2 batteries? Big power supply.....

Post by Driftlimits Performance »

Ok, just wondering if anybody has 2 batteries in their 2?

The plan is to have a big install off one battery, and all other car functions running off another battery.

Will I need an uprated alternator to power 2 batteries? Or would I be better with a power capacitor?

Or one monster battery from hell?

any ideas appreciated!

TIA

I think you'd need a split charge unit to charge the second battery, such as this one. Don't know if you'd need an uprated alternator to use this though. Probably better than using one monster battery as you could run the 'leisure' battery right down and still be able to start the car. hth

That's a sneaky link! 8)

Exactly what I want :D .....

My current battery is a little worse for wear. So maybe another standard battery to power the car, and a nice yellow top battery or something similar for the stereo.

Thanks for the help!
