[Mk2] [Turbo] Apexi Power FC Mapper

Post by Vapid »

Afternoon,

I've been searching around for someone to remap my turbo that's got an Apexi FC Commander, however I seem to be coming up short. It currently has a tune on it, but i'm not overly happy with it.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Happy to travel a few hours, but the closer the better. Located in Colchester, Essex.

Cheers!

I'm currently using Tuning Developments in Warrington. It's miles away from me but I prefer the work to be done by a reputable company who know the 3SGTE engine. My Mr2 is up there at the moment getting the turbo setup reworked and then mapped (Power FC)

Thanks for that. Just read through a load of reviews and it's a rather mixed bunch! Looks like people struggle with receiving parts more than the work done though, so it might be worth a look into.

Cheers!

Definitely worth a look, I considered a few options but they were by far the most sensible choice. Ryan@ 2bartuning was my first choice but he's too busy in Dubai mapping gold plated Bugatti Veyrons. Tuning Developments have a good solid reputation and have been in the Toyota tuning world for long enough. I met Mike/Nick (the owners) at a car show 10 years back and trust them to work on my car despite them being 170miles away. They are not so well known with MR2 owners but started off with Starlet/Glanzas and now have a lot of GT86's on their books. Give them a call, speak to Mike and run through your requirements, I don;t think you'll be disappointed.

I don think Fensport will map a power FC last time i used them they were only mapping Link ECU's as they are a supplier and Motec.

She was previouly mapped by Ryan at 2bar running 403bhp at 1.45 bar, however the previous owner had the entire car re-wired and the map was lost in the process and i've heard he's impossible to get ahold of now, unfortunately!

Previous owner had it tuned again prior to selling it, but i've no idea about the tune at all, other than his word. This is the main reason i'd like to go to someone reputable and get it mapped by again someone i've met and has a history with FC's & 3SGTE's, etc.

Nice to see someone getting it back to her former glory. (If possible).

Should have never sold it.
Genuine JDM Rev5 GT Turbo.

Think these are from pre 2010.

Annoyingly, she really wasn't treated that well after you sold her, but I'll get her there eventually. It's proving to be a bigger job than I originally anticipated. I keep finding all sorts of niggly bits and bad workmanship.

It's all part and parcel though
