steering wheel

Post by CROOKY1811 »

Steering wheel is getting a bit worn on my '94 Turbo and making the interior look bad as the rest is perfect. Does anyone know if the MK 3 steering wheels fit the SW20's.

I don't know but I doubt it. A rev 3 is different to a rev 5

As far as I understand, all Toyota steering wheels physically fit on the spline. Figuring out the horn is the question and I can't believe it's going to be a big issue.

I can confirm the mk3 wheel does fit the mk2, so does the celica mk7 wheel.

Making the power steering sensor work and the horn wiring depends on which wheel you find.

don't try to make another car's airbag work in the mr2, not safe.

It's in the slip ring, which you don't touch when replacing the steering wheel.

I think he may have meant airbag sensor.

nah i did mean the steering sensor. the fool who cut it of my daily fitted the wrong boss so there was no hole for the connector that stick up from the ring.
it mainly notices if the car is started but not driven right away, then the pump stops.. or in traffic jams. after a while the pump stops so until you are doing 5mph again there is no PS. With the sensor still there the movement of the wheel sparks it back into life.

Fitted a MK3 Steering wheel to my old 94 turbo with no issue. Horn worked fine too. I removed the airbag though.
