Decided to go with 40mm Spax, they list different springs for two seperate year categories which seems odd? Link to description below

No point paying £30 more for earlier year group IMO. My car is '93 running black billies up front which I'll be replacing with std shocks and gas inserts due to availability/cost
Btw if anyone has any used ssx around I'd be interested

Yes I always shop around thanks for the links. Still can't understand why earlier model year springs are more expensive. Ok it's just a few quid but still
Re: [Mk2] [NA] Spax ssx springs year specific?
lack of demand?
more material in the part so the cost a fraction more to make? (older cars sat higher so -40 is a different spring to -40 on the later cars) But I was sure this was only rev1 and not rev2 also.
Maybe they are more in demand due to the American market so they jacked the price up cos they can?
There are other springs, why are you looking at the Spax?

I was running Apex until one of the fronts broke. A little too soft up front for my tastes.
I admit that I'm tempted by the good looks of a lowered car. I also realise that lowering springs often ruin ride and performance so I'm having to weigh things up.
Spax have a true drop of 40mm and decent enough ride according to a number of forum threads I've read.
Teins would be too harsh, Eibach perfect but a little expensive.
