To get decent times I really think you need to go on a none tourist day. The amount of people especially bikers that slow you down can be frustrating.

I did not see that obviously

That's awesome!!! I think he could have even gone a bit quicker on an open track as well!!!! 240 bhp it says which is very impressive!!
Be nice to see more MR2's going around the nurburgring!
Just goes to show what time can be archived on a flat out run!!!!
Some sections are so quick at the ring and he was proper on it!!!!
Re: Nurburgring April 2015 + Video 9:14 BTG - Tin Top NA.
He would have been sub8 on that run if he had his other set of tyres on, IIRC he also has a full set of A048's on another set of wheels, the RSR's were the daily ones, and this was a 'go on, just one more go before we leave' run
The butt clenching incident at ~5m40s probably cost a few seconds on it's own.
It's a good example of why you shouldn't underestimate the DC2... it's a properly capable machine.

haha yeah i bet that put his heart rate up!!!
He would probably go even quick without the engine light on!!
Cannot beat high reving NA's on track......
Re: Nurburgring April 2015 + Video 9:14 BTG - Tin Top NA.
I've been following said DC2 on you tube etc and an mr2 would need 330bhp (standard weight) to get to the same power to weight ratio that thing is running.
I'd love to have a go in an NA with power to weight like that

You can get the Mk2 down to around 1000KG - Daie Motors in Japan has a Rev5 BEAMS race car and that came in at just under 1000KG. Do a K20 swap (lighter than a 3S) and you'll shave off a bit more and have more power!

"This weekend is the final end of the Fuji Champion race. At the race for Mr Mr2's weight measurements Fuji Champion race is in the regulations, and the mr2 class is the lowest weight of 990 kg! It's a 994 kg of fuel, so it's ok!"

Thats gotta take some serious gutting! And wow I didnt realise daie motors were still around!
As for the ring i'm a big fan of dannydc2's videos, I don't think i'd have the balls to drive as hard as he does with the dc2 at the ring with the 2 though.

In interest of reviving this topic for my own knowledge, would corner weighting
a predominate road car be worthless, especially as it often holds a passenger ?

It makes a big difference even for just a road car mate & it's not expensive.
I normally have a passenger in with me on track days so I got it set up without weights on the passenger seat
