This may get me a little hate.

Only started playing about with it because I had to take the boot off to lift this beast out

I had to cut off the edges as the rear quarters are so massively wide and the ducktail was tiny, will be creating my own version that will flare down over the arch, I would like a smoothed out version but been advised that because it's a metal boot lid it will eventually crack

Not much of an update but progress

So after a long stint of storage thought it was best to double check figment before ploughing on with the paint prep, just as well turned out it was sitting proud of the passenger wing but perfectly flush with the width of the wing and the height of the bonnet line

Image

Spent a good 20 minutes trying to pull it in, shaving bits here and there to stop it from catching in places, photo below I was having to put as much pressure on as I could to keep it in line

Image

In the end it turned out the wing was by a few mm actually pushed back into the chassis, I'd forgotten when I first got it a lady driver bumped me scuffing the wheel and wing after 2 solid weekends of polishing and buffing the paint back to perfect I might add..

Image

But alas the kie office fits perfect! Onto the paint! If it ever warms up..

not much else has happened so far really other than stripping the engine down for examination

the block as far as i can tell is in great condition apart from the minor amount of sediment and rust in the water jackets, although iv managed to get some very very very light scratches on the liners from using blue towel to GENTLY wipe water away, who knew they were so sensitive..

now the head was a bit of a different story

head needs hot tanking pressure testing skimming and then new valves and new stem seals. should imagine the buckets, springs and collits will be fine potentially..

Just a couple of extras

Now have a fake TRD wing, just need to sort the mountings and paint, also had to throw on a random wheel for the sake of a puncture, only intended to to roll my parts car on but I actually quite like them, so will be spraying high gloss bronze 😄

And I'm not much of an audio kinda guy, but this little gem came with my parts mr2 and I couldn't resist but to keep it for myself 👌

Image

I had intended to change all the wheels to the multi spokes but alas my plans where ruined due to not being able to get the last cheap and nasty eBay tuner lug that had rusted rounded and split, my attempts at chiselling out failed so next weekend will hopefully have them out

Image

(The White wheels where cheap temps not fussed about the damage)
