The GT300 kits on some of the roadsters there now made me come over all funny and want one.

Are you not able to feed the ECU with the pressure/temp sensors etc to pull the engine should something go wrong?

Would save the driver having to be checking the data on screen.

I'd love to have the time to be involved with stuff like this! :thumleft:
TOTB 2010 Rwd top speed, 1/4 and shootout winner.
10.7@142 on R888 street tyres, 10.3@134mph on slicks,
9's on slicks to come, with a clean full throttle pass! Goal of 0-150mph in a 1/4 of a mile....

Yes, and in fact we do have quite a lot external sensors that feed information back to the ECU. The thing is, if there's a problem then we want to know about it, not just limp around with reduced performance. The alarms are more of an amber alert so that we know to keep a check on things. If we can spot a trend - such as the gearbox temperature rising - the we can make an informed decision to bring the car in and do something about it before it becomes a major issue.

So yes, it is does use Eaton TVS design. It's the same charger that goes on the Evora S isn't it?

It's the very same. The kit has all been provided by Toyota, so it's actually from their production TRD Aurion which was only available in Australia:

We're expecting significantly more power than quoted above, as obviously ours will be a race calibration with no thought to emissions (although a reasonable eye on fuel consumption!).

We've been working practically 24 hours a day since the supercharger arrived and if all goes well the bulk of the fabrication work will be completed today and installed tomorrow. Then it's just a case of waiting for the final piece of the jigsaw to arrive from Australia (it's in the air right now) and we're in business.

Also looking forward to the arrival of the high pressure hose for the air jack system tomorrow. Expect to see some of the coolest MR2 video in a long time!

I don't know I'm afraid, ours was supplied by Toyota as part of our sponsorship deal.

There was a group buy on the vx220 owners club a few years ago where if they got enough numbers (10+?) they would be around £1500 just for the charger unit.

It seems common in Aus to use them to replace the Eaton M62, which amongst other things is what's used in the TTE kits for the IS200 which still go for about £2k second hand!

what are your goals for this years race patrick?
considering how well the car performed last year without the mods (well, until disaster struck anyway) sounds like you should be on for an impressive overall placing
