I'm sorry? Was that a dig at us?
Shall we put aside the other stuff we do in order to do this?

I don't see anyone stepping up to do this themselves!

No? I dont see how it could be interpreted as such, unless I'm missing something

I dont think anyone is suggesting you should make it a top priority, but the fact is it doesn't take a lot of work to do. how it works on the Corsa forum:

users post nominations in a monthly nomination thread. For the Corsa forum, all nominees must have paid membership, must not have won feature car previously (unless the car has changed significantly), and cannot have been nominated for the previous month.
Thread is created for voting, winner gets the feature car user title, and thread is created with pictures of car and specification in feature car sub section.
Each year, all monthly feature cars are put against each other for feature car of the year.

Work required for admin / moderating team is not much more than what is required to moderate the forum anyway.

And yes, there is a Corsa C forum, it is actually very active - probably more active than here or mr2oc - well past its peak though. Was brilliant a couple years ago, lots of banter, made some good friends on there - most of which (like me) have moved on from the Corsa. believe it or not, its not all silly wheels and bodykits either, there are still some members building some great cars, notably Mike with his 1.8SRi on ITB's, or Jack with his 1.8T Corsa. And the numerous Z20LET conversions.

Yeah I know the Corsa B had a massive following, bit like the Nova, just the C is a bit more.. I dunno, just a bit bigger and bubble like and it surprises me it has a big interest in modding it. Most I see round here have lexus style lights and a set of alloys on them and thats it. Now a Nova or a Corsa B just had more character I dunno why.. My opinion but maybe if I was 17 again now I`d be going for a corsa C or a Ford Focus, not a nova or an escort.

Anyway I`m waffling off topic, I think the MR2 of the month would be good, and as stated, the winner cant be nominated the following month, making it so the same car doesnt get it every time. Something new and a adds an extra topic, I`d read it, I like looking at other peoples ideas and seeing what they have done.

Erm...
You accuse us of not getting our finger out - hence questioning the dig.
I know its not alot of work, but I also do not see people stepping up to volunteer to take part.
The most staunch supporters of this idea are reluctant to put their names forward to organise this, this says more to me than anything.
The idea has been mooted behind the scenes, but people are quick with the ideas, but slow to take on the responsibility, that is my point.
As for how its organised, I get that.
Personally, I do not have the time to organise this, that was my point....

Any volunteers?

What? No.

"It works on CCUK (Corsa C forum) when the mods / admins got their finger out"

keyword - CCUK, not here :?

It really needs the admin / moderator team to do it, otherwise regular members doing it will end up PMing mods to sticky / close threads, at which point said mods may as well have done it in the first place

For starters I've already said I would be able to do from end of January but like Gazza says it does really need a mod to sort it out, and it doesnt take much work for you guys as mods. It will all be thrown at you by us anyway, all you get to do is look at pretty pictures of MR2's? lol. Plus you mods said you already have something sorted for the new site unless I read wrong, therefore somebody must already be assigned for this.

Also I never read into Gazza's post as being a dig at you guys either, so please stop taking defensive coz it's getting frustrating and old. Even if it somehow was, take it as light banter? :-k

Any progress on this concept? Seems to me when I'm browsing at home that one of the best things about the site is the image space for garages so you can see the rides of the people you're chatting with. A photographic car and driver competition would be a natural progression and whilst it is done elsewhere... so what?
I think a set number of entries per region submitted by the local reps and decided by public vote is the way to go.... any chances?
