\\Mk1 service schedules and information\\

\Maintenance and our recommendations\

This record covers the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), first 3 months/600 miles service and the 6 months/5,000 miles service intervals up to 100,000 miles. Please ensure that the PDI and 3 months/600 miles boxes are stamped and the vehicle identification page is properly completed when you collect your new vehicle. The first 3 months/600 miles service is free apart from oil and materials used. The following 6 months/5,000 miles services are fully chargeable at the time shown for your vehicle multiplied by the Dealer’s retail labour rate. After each service, this record must be stamped by the servicing Dealer, thereby indicating the next service required. Please follow the oil recommendations as shown in this booklet. If your vehicle is operated under severe conditions, such as continual stop-start driving or in a very dusty climate or for very short distances in town only, we recommend that the engine oil and oil filter are replaced at 3 months or 2,500 mile intervals and the air cleaner is inspected and the air cleaner is inspected regularly. We also recommend that on all 4WD commercial vehicles the propeller shaft(s) and all other chassis grease points are lubricated weekly (where applicable), if the vehicle is to be operated regularly under wet and/or muddy conditions.

To keep your Toyota operating at optimum performance and economy, we recommend that you also regularly take advantage of the electronic disgnostic facilities available at all Toyota Dealers.

\CAREFUL MAINTENANCE WILL ENSURE RELIABLE AND ENJOYABLE MOTORING\

\Long Term Safety Maintenance\

Over a period of time, the durability of certain items reduces. We therefore recommend that the following items be replaced at four yearly intervals: -

1. Brake master cylinder cap, valve and boot.
2. Brake wheel cylinder cap and dust seal.
3. Brake hoses
4. Brake booster master kit and vacuum hose.
5. Fuel hoses.
6. Power steering hoses.
7. Wheel bearing (rear only on Tercel 2WD) grease, front suspension arm bushing grease, steering knuckle grease, drag link grease, centre arm bracket grease and all other chassis grease points (where applicable).

These recommendations are additional to the maintenance items checked at the 48 months/40,000 mile service and as they are safety related items, we strongly advise that you consult your local Toyota Dealer who will be pleased to give you a quotation.

\Engine Oil\

The correct grade of engine oil to be used in Toyota engines is as follows:

Petrol engines - API.SE (of 15w/50 or 20W/40 viscosity).

\Winter Motoring\

In the interest of reliability, we recommend that your Dealer carries out pre- and post-winter check ensures vital items such as windscreen wipers, lights, tyres, brakes and engine cooling system are ready to see your Toyota are in the best condition to take you happily through the summer.

We also recommend that the underside of your vehicle is power washed at the end of each winter to prevent build-up of mud and guard against corrosion from salt and chemicals used on roads during winter.
